2009? Pretty benign on average, for which I am more than grateful

BB's barn restoration project continues.

Sold a shortt-short story to Alien Skin (online) for publication in the May issue

At home we got our new Village Hall after much fundraising and a £380,000 rebuild

Number One Son finished his year in Rome as a 'scholar' at the British School and got news that he'd been accepted for a five year PhD at Princeton. That started in September so once more he is our foreign son.

We accepted an invitation to play in Lunenburg Nova Scotia next August and began to plan for our Artisan five year reunion tour in 2010 to go with it. Gig offers rolling in nicely.

Grew my own veg in nice raised beds made from old floor joists left over from the barn restoration. Onions and tomatoes fine, but the cabbage whites got my broccoli.

Had a period of toothy badness in the summer. Two abcesses in a row, Ouch.

June-July saw Tanglefoot's last UK tour as they steam up to an end-of-year retirement in Canada. A huge loss to both the business and to me, personally. I will miss seeing them every year, though friendships will not be forgotten.

Mid July - my first ever trip to Ireland to say with friend Mylek in Co. Kilkenny. Lovely! And just what I needed after waving Tanglefoot goodbye at the airport.

July, lost a friend, Johnny Collins, who had a heart attack while singing at a festival in Poland. Funeral delayed until August for organisational reasons.

BB turned 60 in early August. Had a small party for forty at the village hall, called it a rehearsal for doing the wedding buffet...

August 29th. Number One Daughter successfully wed. A great day was had by all. I didn't kill anyone with the buffet!

Got interest from Agent Beth for my Magic Pirate book. Rewrite begins.

Got invited to Ottawa to attend the Ontario Council of Folk festivals conference in mid October. A long way for a weekend, but great to be able to do it.

Milford was later than usual this year (late October) but after the wedding and the Ottawa trip was almost like a holiday!

November 9th our family increased by one. BB's belated 60th birthday present arrived. Diezel, a German Shepherd, all teeth and puddles and growing like a monster.

December - all my little chicks came home to roost for Christmas. Awwww.

2010? Bring it on!
